Häagen-Dazs Miami Retail Build-Out: A Service Counter Built for Volume
For this Häagen-Dazs location in Miami, CM Custom Design manufactured and finalized the design of the store’s service counter. As a Miami commercial millwork company trusted for retail build-outs across South Florida, the team focused the scope on the zone customers interact with most, a front-of-house approach consistent with retail design industry best practices, where finishes need to read premium up close and hold up under constant, high-volume use.
The scope centered on three coordinated elements, built to work together as one system. These included custom countertops and shelving in a white solid-surface finish, a floating shelf, or repisa flotante, for product and serving ware, and painted glass detailing finished in Häagen-Dazs’ signature purple. Together, they create a streamlined front-of-house environment. The result is crisp lines, durable materials, and a clear visual hierarchy that keeps the focus on the product and the customer experience.

As a result, the surface reads premium up close while standing up to the wear of a high-volume dessert counter.
A Floating Shelf That Keeps the Display Line Light and Minimal
Above the service counter, CM Custom Design delivered a custom floating shelf, or repisa flotante. It was designed to create a light, minimal display plane for product and serving ware. As part of the store’s custom retail display shelving, it reinforces the storefront’s bright, refined aesthetic. At the same time, it gives staff an accessible, uncluttered spot to stage cups, toppings, and serving pieces during service.
Painted Glass Detailing, Built Into the Brand System
The project also included painted glass finished in Häagen-Dazs’ signature purple. It was designed as a clean graphic surface, intended to receive branding elements and integrate with the store’s overall identity system. Paired with the solid-surface countertops and floating shelf, the painted glass ties the service counter directly to the Häagen-Dazs brand. In other words, it adds brand presence without adding visual clutter to the customer-facing zone.
