“One coordinated system, from the primary suite to the pool deck — not a list of separate finishes.”
Luxury Interior Design in Coral Gables, Built on Craftsmanship
Looking for luxury interior design in Coral Gables with custom millwork and a true high-end finish? This waterfront-area residence in Cocoplum showcases how CM Custom Design turns architectural drawings into a finished home where every wall, cabinet, and built-in reads as one coordinated system rather than a list of separate purchases. The scope covers a primary suite wrapped in wood-paneled walls, a floating staircase framed by a glass wine wall, a media room with a fluted stone console, and a chef’s kitchen and dining space anchored by custom millwork throughout.
Our portfolio features residential projects across Cocoplum, Coral Gables, and South Florida, where details matter and craftsmanship is visible in every line. This Coral Gables project is a full representation of that standard: a two-story home where custom wall paneling, floating cabinetry, and architectural millwork carry the same design language from the primary bedroom down through the living room, dining room, and out to the pool and outdoor kitchen. Nothing here was left to a generic contractor finish — every surface was designed, fabricated, and installed by our team.
Custom Wood-Slat Accent Wall in the Primary Suite
Architectural Millwork, Designed and Fabricated In-House
We design and fabricate architectural wall panels, custom furniture, and premium built-ins that elevate a home’s character while staying clean, modern, and timeless. On this project, that meant a wood-slat accent wall behind the primary bed, a channel-tufted headboard wall in the guest suite, a wood-slat TV and media wall with a floating console in the living room, and a matching floating console beneath the media room’s marble-topped television wall. Closets, bar-adjacent millwork, and fully customized interior finishes round out a scope built for new construction and luxury renovation alike.
Our team focuses on the details that define luxury results: panel alignment, tight gaps, consistent reveals, grain direction, durable materials, luxury hardware, and smooth installation from start to finish. We coordinate design selections with real-world conditions so the finished space looks intentional, not improvised.
Wood-Slat TV Wall with Floating Media Console
Wood-Paneled Walls and Custom Headboard Systems
The primary suite pairs a wood-slat accent wall with a marble-finished ensuite bathroom, giving the room a warm, tactile backdrop that carries through to the adjoining bath. A second guest bedroom features a channel-tufted upholstered headboard set against fluted wood paneling, with matching bedside millwork on either side. Each headboard wall and paneled surface was built and installed to align perfectly with the room’s windows, lighting, and trim — the kind of detail that separates a true custom build from an off-the-shelf finish.
Floating Consoles, Fluted Furniture, and Media Walls Built to Match
The main living areas connect a wood-slat television wall and floating console to a fluted-wood coffee table and custom sectional seating, carrying one consistent grain direction and finish across furniture and architecture alike. A second media room repeats the language with a marble-topped console beneath its own television wall. Glass and cylinder pendant fixtures were set flush against the paneled walls, finished with the same attention to reveals and alignment found throughout the home.

A Floating Staircase and Glass Wine Wall as Architectural Centerpiece
A floating staircase with a frameless glass railing anchors the two-story living space, paired with a glass-enclosed wine wall built into the stair’s structural core. The wood treads, glass panels, and surrounding millwork were coordinated to hold their line under daily use, turning a functional connection between floors into the home’s visual centerpiece.

Kitchen Island, Dining, and Entry Millwork That Complete the Home
Millwork continues into the kitchen island and dining area, through the entry foyer, and out to a covered outdoor kitchen and pool deck, so the same finish quality carries from the front door to the backyard. A round dining table sits beneath the home’s floating staircase and glass wine display, tying the main living level together as one continuous design statement rather than a series of disconnected rooms.
